Toffee Saltine Cracker Cookies
Or “Christmas Crack”
This is a super simple but delicious treat. During the holidays and the entire year. Only 5 ingredients!

Ingredients
- 50 saltine crackers (a sleeve and half)
- 1 cup of butter (2 sticks)
- 1 packed cup of dark brown sugar
- 1 12 oz bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup of chopped pecans (optional)
Directions
- Preheat oven 350 degrees F
- Line cookie sheet with foil
- Grease foil with cooking spray or butter (this is very important)

- Line cookie sheet with one layer of saltine crackers

- Melt butter in sauce pan on medium

- Once butter is melted stir in brown sugar

- Bring butter and brown sugar mixture to a boil and let boil for 3 minutes

- Cover the saltine crackers with the mixture and use a knife to cover every cracker

- Place cookie sheet in the oven for 5 minutes (or until the mixture is bubbly)
- Remove from oven and pour chocolate chocolate chips over the crackers. Let stand for 5 minutes

- Use a spatula to spread the chocolate

- Optional–add pecans or crushed candy canes on top of melted chocolate
- Place cookie sheet in the refrigerator for one hour

- Remove from the refrigerator and lift foil off of the cookie sheet and break apart

- Store in a sealable container in the refrigerator
